For athletes and active individuals, our team offers tailored sports nutrition guidance to optimize performance and recovery. We emphasize the importance of fueling the body with the right nutrients to enhance athletic capabilities and overall health.
What to expect from sessions with our dieticians (RDs):
Individual Nutrition Session
This 60-minute individual session is designed to provide targeted support for specific sports nutrition needs for clients who already possess some foundational knowledge in this area.
3 x 60min Individual Session Packages
Our RD team recommends this package for building in-depth sports nutrition knowledge to support athletes on and off the field. A single session can be overwhelming given the breadth of performance-enhancing information available.
Team Packages (up to 12 people)
This package is great for clubs, schools and small teams. A session with the RD can answer general sport-specific questions, focus on travel, games and any other concerns and/or questions.
Sports Nutrition Packages
I’m proud to say that as two moms living in Northern Virginia, both of us at CenteRD Nutrition share more than a love for helping others — we’re deeply rooted in the local community and know the passion and intensity of the DMV sports scene. Being parents here gives us firsthand understanding of balancing family life with training, practice schedules, and youth athletics, and it keeps us connected to what local athletes and active families really need.
On top of that, our experience as college athletes (Erin was a Division 1 collegiate runner and was an ultramarathoner post-college. Monica was a Division 3 rower and is a lifelong rock climber and backpacker), working with local high school and college athletes, and our formal training has us excited to support your athletic journey. We understand that feeding a body for sport, life, and recovery isn’t theoretical — it’s personal.
Package Includes:
Three 1-hour educational sessions with one of our clinically licensed dieticians focused on:
- Session 1: Sport Nutrition Basics and sport-specific considerations, along with a discussion of the individual’s performance goals.
- Session 2: Discussion of the individual’s challenges and/or barriers to proper nutrition, hydration needs and the use of supplements.
- Session 3: Planning for success. Preparing for practice days, game/tournament days, and travel days/weekends.
Following the 3 sessions, the athlete will leave with:
- Sample meal plans and snack ideas
- Specific guidelines for game days/competitions, practices, travel days, and tournament days
- Evidence-based discussions about nutritional supplements in sports
- Screening for Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) and tips for prevention and treatment for RED-S
- We have extensive experience with athletes in weight conscious sports. We support athletes by providing a safe, performance-focused approach that avoids dangerous rapid-cut methods.
